We sleep better tonight in the
Villa Maydou Boutique Hotel in
Luang Prabang, Laos.
Tom is booking a hotel in
Vang Vieng, our next destination, and we ask the hotel to arrange transportation to
Vang Vieng.
We walk a bit along the Mekhong, today we go to a botanical garden, the
Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden, across the river.
Admission is USD 25 per person and the visit starts with a boat ride of about half an hour.
The sky is dark, but luckily it stays dry.
The garden is beautiful but also a bit boring, and after two hours we have seen it.
Because we have to wait for the boat back, we have a drink in the café of the botanical
garden, next to a beautiful pond.
On the boat we hear from a local guide that the kind of rain showers we had
yesterday and the day
before yesterday always start at about the same time.
We walk to a cafe, Sinouk Coffee, where we have a
drink and wait for the downpour.
Fortunately it remains dry, and it is sunny.
We walk to Lamache where we have eaten before and order some food there.
Back at the hotel it appears that no transport to Vang Vieng has been arranged, the hotel
does not do that.
We walk to a travel agency and book transport, tomorrow at half past eight we are picked up
from the hotel

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
